The next morning, protesters started gathering in front of the palace, in the street before the main gate to the palace grounds. The crowd continued to grow throughout the day.

“Well, we know they are going to carry through on their part of the plan,” Stickney said.

“Yes. So far, anyway.”

“What are the blue flags about, Richard?”

Some of the protesters carried solid blue flags. No stripes, no central logo or crest.

“The royal flag is red and yellow, with the crown seal in red, yellow, black, and gold in the center. Of the three primary colors – red, yellow, and blue – there is no blue on the king’s flag. All blue means no king.”

“Ah. I see. Clever. So they will peacefully protest there?”

“We’ll see how big the crowds get. If they start growing in a big way, something will happen. It won’t stay peaceful.”

“And what do we do now?”

“Bring down the Marines. I think Jules is right. No reason to wait.”
